Bob Myers Knows If Your House Looks Good, He Looks Good
Rising Star Wholesale and All Iowa Products are located in the All Iowa Home
Center at 700 SE Oralabor Road in Ankeny. They have grown from five
employees in a 10,000-square-foot warehouse to 30 employees in a 100,000-
square-foot warehouse that was purchased a year ago and shared with
Kinzler Companies, a drywall and insulation wholesaler out of Ames. Myers
decided to create the home center after seeing similar centers in other parts
of the country. Builders can help their customers find the products they want
in a one-stop atmosphere that includes conference rooms for meeting with
possible home buyers and for looking at samples to make style and color
selections easier on the buyer. Their offices offer a variety of services
available to the builder, from a 4th generation mason company, Heck Stone
Masonry, along with Pierce Roofing, winner of last year's Ankeny Roofer of
the Year. They also have Electric Wholesale, Ambiance Home Décor, Turning
Leaf Interiors, Cabinetry Showcase of Iowa, Ames/DM Home Improvement,
Kinzler Companies and Knight & Sons Landscaping.
Rising Star represents some of the leading vinyl manufacturers of exterior
siding in the business, Heartland Building Products, Variform Inc., Resource
Materials Corporation (RMC) and Wolverine/Certainteed Siding, to name a
few. They also represent Edco Steel Siding.
Vinyl siding is a mature product with 35 years of proven performance. In the
U.S., it's the number one exterior product used with low maintenance and no
painting. Vinyl siding has 40 colors available and it can be made to replicate
all types of wood trims. One of the newest and most innovative products is
Heartland's CedarMax thermal siding. It's a great choice for the energy

resistance than similar products. When asked about Hardiplank or other fiber
cement siding, Myers said, "In my opinion, health issues on the safety of the
product have yet to be answered. Policy changes on installation have made
warranty problems unpredictable and homeowners largely unaware of the
long term caulking and painting maintenance required." Their regular
customers include builders and remodelers in a territory that covers all of
central Iowa.
Rising Star also represents AFCO architectural columns, DeckLok vinyl
decking, railing, fencing and The Foundry manufactured shakes and shingles.
Manufactured products from these high-quality makers offer builders and
homeowners what they want – attractive looks, low maintenance and
durability. DeckLok vinyl decking and rails have the appearance of wood but
require no painting, sealing or staining. They also have a non-slip surface and
the 100% virgin vinyl won't splinter. The Foundry's shakes and shingles come
from molds formed from wood products and are available in 30 different
colors. AFCO aluminum columns are load bearing and require little to no
maintenance. They are more impact resistant than wood and come with a
lifetime warranty.
Builders and remodelers want quality vinyl windows and Rising Star has an
exceptional product for them. The company represents Atrium Windows,
which is one of the oldest vinyl window companies. They make a very good
line of windows and doors for new construction and window replacement.
Heartland Window Company, a business unrelated to Heartland siding,
manufactures replacement windows in Iowa. Myers' customers have said
they appreciate having a product that is made locally.
Midwestern builders and remodelers have discovered the aesthetics of
manufactured stone over the last five years. All Iowa Stone is committed to
providing customers with the finest quality, most authentic manufactured
stone available for residential and commercial uses. All Iowa Stone works
with four major manufacturers of stone veneer products. This allows them to
offer over 200 different styles, shapes and colors of stone products with a
wide array of accessories.
All Iowa Stone shows commitment to their customers by providing them with
quality products that are beautiful, functional and durable, as well a (sic)
being cost effective, all of which are backed by at least a 30 year warranty.
Serving the Des Moines Metro and surrounding areas with a range of
approximately 100-120 miles, All Iowa Stone delivers the stone to their
customers and picks up returns when the job is finished.
All Iowa Gutter was started to offer a more professional level of service than
Myers had found locally. All Iowa Gutter strives to meet builders' schedules
and to provide a wide selection of colors with matching roof edging. All Iowa
Gutters' (sic) color selection is the largest in the area and they are very
competitively priced. They have five gutter trucks servicing the DSM/Metro
area. They offer 5" and 6" gutter, available to commercial and residential
builders or homeowners.
All Iowa Hot Tubs and Saunas sell retail as well as to contractors. The public
is welcome to come in and see the Bullfrog spas and Health Mate Saunas.
The Bullfrog spa is customizable, interchangeable and upgradable. It has a
tough three-layer shell that contains the plumbing, making the spa virtually

handcrafted, assembles and disassembles with ease, requires no plumbing or
ventilation, uses less energy and has a lifetime warranty. Some of the
benefits of the Health Mate sauna are: relieves joint pain and stiffness,

stress and fatigue and enhances the skin tone. Myers said he uses his Health
Mate sauna to relieve his winter cold symptoms.
All Iowa Products is home to the revolutionary Dimplex Optiflame electric
fireplace. The Optiflame provides the realism and ambiance of conventional
gas and wood fireplaces but without the mess, expense, constraints or
maintenance. Optiflame has a one-step installation process and requires only
